Friday Morning
They are getting ready to extubate Dizzy, that means they are taking the ventilator out. This is a big step in his recovery. Not only does it mean one less thing he has plugged into him, but it also means that he is getting stronger, he is breathing more and more on his own, and enough now that he will be breathing completely on his own. All the nurses here say that he is having a great recovery. It's good to hear that from them. I may have to run back into town this morning, but I will try to get Bess to upload some pics, if not I will do it later this evening. He got his hair did last night, and the tube will be out, so he is looking pretty good. He has my hairline so it only adds to his beauty! (ha-ha). Will talk to you all later. Please continue to pray for Andrew, he still has a ways to go and it is the prayer that has got him this far. Thanks...

Hey - Alison is friends with one of the nurses there - Angie, I think - and she said Andrew is a trooper! She was there a couple days ago. Anyway, I know you guys talk to the nurses, but it was nice to hear her give such a good report to Alison, too. Oh, and I'm pretty sure she said he is the cutest baby there, too! Obviously! Praying that you get to hold him soon (today would be nice!)
Steve, Betsy, and Andrew,
Teresa has been giving me updates for a while, but this is the first I've seen of your blog. First let me say how incredibly modern of you. I read back to the beginning and am totally impressed with the strength that you have shown. I enjoyed all your videos and pictures. I think of all 3 of you every day. I am so happy/relieved for you all that the worst seems to be over. Andrew is a tough kid! I thought of a verse that says that God gives us abundantly above what we can ask or think (something along those lines.) I am thrilled that Andrew has survived this ordeal and am watching for him to become the next (fill in your favorite athlete here).
