We are up here in the room with Andrew. His eyes are opened (it's been a few days!) and he is surveying his surroundings and, if I know him like I think I do, he is plotting his escape. We can tell that he is still a little doped up but at least he is responsive to his mom and dad. The night nurses are great. Chris (Costello), I just saw the phone video of the back room that you helped my mom with... that is awesome! I didn't know that much was done. They have 'The Andy Griffith Show' on the TV up here (it was on before we came in.........serious!........it was!...). Anyway, this show is the reason why I don't like the nickname "Andy"... there was this episode where Barney was........zzzzzzzz...........and he took the one bullet out of his shirt pocket.....zzzzzzzz......5 minutes later the gun was loaded but it was too late..........zzzzzzzzzz...a goat was watching Barney......zzzzzzzzz.. then all I hear is Barney yelling "Andy! Andy! Andy!". And that's what did it. The show is fine, it's just that screwball yelling "Andy!" like that and I cannot get it out of my head! Well, now it looks like Barney is about to detonate some dyno-mite (What's Happening!), Otis is hunkering down in his cell, and Andy is playing it cool--- I think they will get through it all--- wait!--- oh no! uhh..... I guess that's how the series ends.
So, sorry to ramble, Dizzy is doing so well, his vitals are very stable, though he is still relying on assistance from tubes and medicines, the prayers are much appreciated, and it was nice to chat to some friends on the phone today. Big J keep up the walk... there is a crown waiting for you. Tina, I'm praying that your back gets better... I can relate to that pain! Betsy just told me that Dizzy is starting to breath better on his own, the respirator is starting to take a back seat as he is initiating the breaths more independently. Well, there is some more great news! This boy, I tell ya, a chip off the old block(head). I don't know exactly how to explain the breathing thing... it involves the 'spikes' and 'valley' things on the monitor. when Andrew initiates his breath- it will start to spike with magenta, then when the ventilator has to kick in to help, the spike turns to white. There are also a couple of numbers involved, but the gist of it is that Dizzy is taking on more responsibility for breathing. I will pick the nurses brain about it and try to relay the proper info. O.K. We'll talk to you all later

Lord,
Here we are, day two in 2008, and we are so thankful for the marvelous work you are doing in Andrew's little body. We often don't understand the whys of your plan, but we are honored to be a part of it, and give you our praise.
As King David said,
"I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth. The humble shall hear thereof and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me. Let us exalt His name together." (Psalm 34:1-3)
Thank you for dying on the cross for us, Jesus, and for freeing us from the penalty and power of sin.
In the matchless name of Jesus,
Amen.
We love you Steve, Betsy, and Andrew,
Pastor B, Claudia, and your Calvary Chapel Space Coast family
Steve and Bess,
The more pee and the more magenta the better! All our love and prayers and my empathy go out to you both and Dizzy. He looks and sounds by your blogs to be an incredible fighter...it may be sooner than you think to hold him. I will try my hardest to come by and see you all, but if work does not allow, Dusty and I will be by this weekend. We had no idea until now, and only wish we could have been there sooner. Make the nurses, docs, and nurse practitioners explain everything; if you don't understand ask 10,000 questions!
Love and prayers,
Mary Alice
