Wednesday's adventures
Well, we had quite the adventure yesterday. Steve went in to work early & Dizzy & I were sleeping in. My alarm went off at 7am to give him some meds, which I did. Then about 10 minutes later I went to flush his g-tube & noticed that his feeding tube was several inches out of his stomach. Since he has g-j tube the tube inserts in his stomach through a hole & then travels to his intestines. So it was hanging out, but not all the way pulled out. I didn't see it happen, but he must have just gotten a hold of it & yanked it. I heard him cry a little, but he does that in his sleep sometime & he settled right down without me. Anyways, long story short we had to take him to Arnold Palmer for his g-i doctor to replace it. He did have to go under anesthesia, but not for very long & they use a scope to put the tube back where it belongs. The nurse told Steve that when he woke up he smiled at them. He was actually a very good boy through the whole day. He pulled it out about 710am & we were leaving the hospital at about 330pm. So the moral of the story is: Andrew may look cute in his bedtime shirt & diaper, but he must wear a onesie from now on. Little stinker!
