More Great news

we came back up after being treated to lunch (our breakfast) by Dawn, my step-mother (thanks again Dawn!). Before we left they were concerned a little that he wasn't peeing enough. the idea is to load him up with all the necessary fluids then empty him out, letting us know that his kidneys are functioning good. Well, when we got back he had peed A LOT. So that was very encouraging. They have also been able to start weening him off of some of the drugs and supplements; he is completely off the epinephrine (this was used to keep his heart pumping good in order to maintain the proper blood pressure, so he is now sustaining his own BP on his own). He is also on Nitric Oxide, which is used to help keep his lungs from contracting. He was at 20 this morning, now he is at 10.... the goal is obviously 0 but he is progressing well in that area. he has also been given Oxygen, he was at 34% (we all breath 21%), now he is down to 28%! His heart rate is stable at 150, which is great, and his extremities have been warming UP and the swelling going DOWN. These are all signs of a very good recovery. We know there are still some issues, but we are taking all this wonderful news and thanking God for it. I mentioned last night to my mom that I didn't know how much weight was on us until it started being lifted... so while we are not fooling ourselves about the road ahead, we are also able to breath a little easier and smile a bit more for where we are at now. Thank you all for the prayers, we mean it, we know they are being heard by God and He is bringing us all through this day by day... we're going to go rest for a little and will update shortly...
