Late Update

Sorry guys it's been so long since last update. The time has just gotten away from us. We were treated to lunch at Bennigans so I can blame Bess' side of the family for that! (Thanks Machi, Gina, Molly-Molly-Molly and Mom Bart- we're not supposed to know how to spell that name). Anyways, Dizzy is doing excellent. Today was the first day that I heard any Doc or nurse say things like "he's doing really well" and "he did real good" and that kind of stuff. I know they're supposed to talk all detached and not giving false hope, but it was good to hear the positive statements. there may not be a lot of "big" news the next couple of days, but that will be a good thing. He is supposed to slowly ween off all the many drugs that are assisting him as he takes over on his own. If he does it nice and steadily it will be a good sign of a quality recovery and acceptance of the procedures. That boy has been through a lot of stuff in the first week of his life. I think more than i have been to date. Sorry I have not yet edited the video to post... but it is coming. Thank you all for the comments, I just published the most recent ones. I will do better tomorrow on updates, Surely I will get another post later tonight as well, (Yes i will, and don't call me Shirley). Thanks again and please continue the prayers. Now the issue will be in the details of a steady, solid recovery in our boy. Marshal, it was good to hear from you. Danielle, I know Bess will be glad to read your comment, thanks. And Thanks to all of you regulars too... (Matt, thanks for the --uh--er--evaluation- copy of last week's UFC, Bess is stoked- Go GSP!) Dawn and Dad, I got the envelope with the $ gift for our stay @ RMH Thank you soooo much. Chris and Emily (Costello) thanks for helping my mom with the shelving. I was scared of what she did until I knew you were involved! We'll talk to you all later..

Great news, Steve and Betsy!
God is certainly abounding in mercy. His mercies are new every morning. We thank you for your friendship and encouragement in Christ through the years and know you will continue to be an awesome mom and dad to little Andrew (who won't be so little before you know it- the time will fly).

We are so blessed to have you as part of our church family. We prayed for you guys and Andrew as a body on Christmas Eve and will do so again tonight on New Year's Eve.

We love you and are trusting in His grace to sustain you.
Yours in Him,
Pastor B and Claudia

I was so relieved to get the call from Teresa this morning saying that Andrew was being taken in to have his chest closed. I think the whole side of the building where I work knows when I get an update on Andrew. They are praying and/or rejoicing with us as the updates come in!
Betsy, I have to tell you that I was so happy to see a post from you today (not that Steve hasn't done an awesome job...you have!), but it just brought such a smile to my face and a sense of relief (weird, can't really explain well) to read your posting. I'm blessed to be your sister-in-law!

Hey guys, I'll come see ya as soon as the Marine Corp lets me go for good. Should be around the 10th of Jan. Ohh... and I don't think you need to tell us thanks for the support... we wouldn't have it any other way. We love the three of ya more than you may consider.
Being a parent is a wonderful thing. When my daughter was born the rest of the words importance droped away into nothingness and all I could see was that little shaking, skweeeking bundle of love. The conection is amazing. Speeking of which Keira (8+ months) is calling for me... got to go.

Love ya,
John Wollett

Dear Steve and Bess,
First, CONGRATULATIONS! John called from NC about 11:30 and filled me in on Andrew's birth and heart trouble. There is nothing like being a parent. WELCOME ANDREW! There are a lot of folks excited about you joining us on planet earth (jungle and otherwise). I've read through all the posts and am excited for you in all of this. In a sense it is terrible, but in another it is wonderful. God is good all the time. He has plans for you, all of you, and they are plans for good not for evil. He has work for you to do, and you are doing it. You are being faithful to Him, sharing your faith by how you are responding to this situation. Many eyes are on you to see how Christians act in crisis. You are doing great. You can be sure I will be praying for you regularly, and will be sending this URL to other who will pray too.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Love to all.

Hi Steven and Betsy,

Happy New Year! I am just figuring out how to leave you a comment. Thanks so much for keeping us informed about Andrew. We've cryed and laughed with you all the way through - we are so glad the surgery went well. We love you all so much and we can't wait for you all to be able to go home and be together.

God bless - we're still praying

Love, Aunt Linda and Uncle Frank

Hi There,

You don't know me but Bobbie Diemer is my stepmother and she told me about your situation so I wanted to let you guys know my husband and I are praying for your little one.

I am so thankful it sounds like the baby is on its way to recovery!!

I cannot imagine how hard all this started out and still is.

I will pray for you to have peace and wisdome in knowing how to deal with the nurses and doctors and that your baby will be able to come home safely and soon.

God Bless You Guys and just wanted to let you know we are praying!!

God IS faithful even though we are not!!

In Gods Grace and Love
