I am so happy right now. I have been anxiously awaiting the day that Andrew figured out the microphone. Steve & I were just talking about how much Andrew is like him (Steve). See how he keeps looking back at me to make sure I 'm still watching & think he's funny. I have to be honest, I really DO think he's funny.

A Book Reading with Dizzy

Steve & I noticed lately how Andrew has started talking to us with such intent. (It's so cute when he makes his serious face.) Here he is with his favorite little book. He loves to crawl over to his book shelf & pull books down, but he will also spend an hour just sitting there turning them over, flipping through them, & of course, eating them. The next shelf over even has his toys on it, but he still spends most of his time with the books. Seems like the right thing for Steve's mini-me to be doing.

A boy after his Daddy's heart!

Just wanted to let you all know that today I took Andrew to his pre-op appointment with the eye doctor & when he remeasured Andrew's alignment he found that his eyes were significantly straighter! So surgery was cancelled for this Friday. We'll go back in a few months to see if they continue straightening or if they'll stabilize & then go ahead with surgery. Steve & I are thrilled. I have to say 'Go God!' He definitely has Andrew in the palm of His hand!

Little Boys!

I have to add a quick update. I don't have a picture yet, but I'll try. So, recently I realized haw analytical Andrew was, which makes sense given his parents. He likes to discover the parts of an object, how they move, how they look from different angles, etc. Well, his latest discovery is hilarious: his finger fits perfectly in his nose! He doesn't really pick it, hasn't had the joy of that discovery yet, but he is quite taken with the fit. Last night in the car we passed a couple street lights allowing me to catch glimpses of him & he was just holding it in there. Aunt Becki also had the pleasure of seeing him yesterday put his finger in his nose, then right back in his (teething) mouth. So, we'll be practicing big boy hand washing many more times during the day now : ) Sorry if I grossed you out. I thought it was adorable & hilarious - what a mom!

Happy Heart Day!

Andrew keeps doing just great. He is a blast to hang out with & gets especially excited when his Daddy gets home (as you can see : ) He is going to have his eye surgery this coming Friday (the 20th) so please keep him in your prayers for that. It's an outpatient procedure so we should bring him home that same day. We're also hoping that they can squeeze an echocardiogram in while he's under so we don't have to go back for one in the next few months. Kill two birds.

Today is actually Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day. I think it's adorable that it falls on Valentine's Day. So yesterday we went over to Arnold Palmer to meet up with some of the other Precious Little Hearts & visit the staff for a Heart Day Celebration. It was good to see everybody. Below are a couple pictures of the kids. What a beautiful bunch!

Andrew has always been impressed with Emma. He likes big kids : ) This was the only picture I got of him looking at the camera, he was starring at her & trying to get her hair the rest of the time.

Crawl!

Andrew started crawling earlier this week &, of course, I've had the hardest time getting it on video. You can see at the beginning of this clip he was too busy being funny man to show me, so I had to get into stealth mode. He's also getting much more confident standing. We are just so proud of him!

ready, steady, GO!

Our cousin, Mandy, was so sweet to pass on this walker to Andrew now that her Tony is a walking machine. The very first time we put Andrew in it (last weekend) he gave a big smile & pushed backward. He has enjoyed scooting around in it some everyday since. He's gone forward a couple times - mostly on accident, so we just help him with the forward & then let him back himself into a corner again. Good times!
So our boy is 13 months old now. AND cousin Kalee's birthday is today - SEVEN YEARS OLD! (talk about a traitor!) I remember when she was just 13 months old - it was just a couple weeks ago. These kids. Uncle Stevie and Aunt Betsy love you so much Kalee, happy birthday!

Lift Off

Dizzy is getting so big so quickly lately. Here he is pulling himself up for the 2nd time. Also, a couple nights ago he wiggle himself off my lap on the couch onto the floor (with my help to ease the landing). We are realizing how in the blink of an eye he's off, persuing more independence. We couldn't be prouder : ). We are still struggling with getting him to take more of his food by mouth, so if you would pray for our little man about that. Thanks!
